Come to Our Last Sunday Concert, Oct 8th, "Celebrating
Oakland's Gospel Choirs"

Dear Neighbor,
Weather forecasters predict sunny weather for the
the last FREE performance of our fall series,
Celebrating Oakland's Gospel Choirs, Sunday, October
8, 3-6 pm.
No celebration of Oakland's musical traditions would
be complete without recognizing the roots in our
African American churches. We are honored to have
three great community choirs join us.
Beginning at 3pm:
Robin Williams & Peace Gospel Choir
KC and Company
Allen Temple Baptist Church Choir
Please help us build a tradition of free quality
live performances here in Oakland. Please send
this onto your family and friends. Come early
and enjoy the cascades, picnic areas, and trails of
this 500 acre park...or visit the
Chabot Space Center at the other end of the
park.

We want to thank those of you who joined us for
this first fall series. Parks and Recreation
will have thank you surprises this Sunday for
those who have attended the whole series!
We have had great performances in a beautiful
venue and we have learned valuable lessons about
using this huge outdoor theater. We are pleased
that at least half of the audience at each
performance had never visited Woodminster
before, many more had not attended a performance
there in many years.
My office and the Parks and Recreation
Department will begin almost immediately to
debrief and plan for next year. We welcome your
comments and suggestions.
